POC – PSC is set to conduct the annual Philippine National Games on May 25 to June 2, 2013 here in the City of Manila, this national championship games aimed to assess the expanse of athletic potentials as a result of the national program and the basis for the final selection ground for the possible composition of the national pool.
The PNG is in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Education (Dep Ed),the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and the National Sports Association (NSA).

The ARPI National Arnis Encounter 2012 2nd Leg slated for this month, (November) is postponed due to conflict with other ARPI arnis
activities lined up with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

Referees and Judges (RJs) must officiate in a sanctioned arnis tournament at least once a year to be exempted from attending RJ seminars. They may volunteer to be technical officials in any of the arnis tournament listed in the Calendar of Activities. However, they must first get the permission of the ARPI RJ Committee. Secondly, they must attend the RJ Clinic preceding the sanctioned tournament. Thirdly, they must have performed satisfactorily based on the i_arnis standard. Lastly, they must get a Certificate of Appreciation attesting their participation as volunteers.

Please be informed that PSC has allowed 1-4 athletes per category/division per LGU. In case that the LGU does not send any athlete , the NSA may allow athletes to participate provided they present Barangay Certification stating that they are from that Barangay, plus other requirements stated in the ground rules.

ARNIS IN BATANG PINOY 2012
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is launching the Batang Pinoy 2012, a national sports competition for children aged 15 years old and below, with 5 regional competitions and a national finals and is expected to be the biggest youth program of its kind in the country.
Batang Pinoy 2012 will feature 15 different disciplines, mostly Olympic sports. Arnis, our national martial art and sport is included due to the efforts of Arnis Philippines Inc. (ARPI) in explaining the fact that our country should bid for its inclusion. The whole project will be assisted by the Department of Education (DepEd), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC). The PSC together with the POC and the Leagues of Provinces, Cities, and Municipalities and Barangays, are eyeing discovering potential athletes for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in China.
The Batang Pinoy tournament will start with the Southern Luzon Leg in Oriental Mindoro on September 30, to October 3, 2012. The rest of the regional competitions will be held in NCR, Marikina City on October 14 to 17, 2012, Northern Luzon Leg in Pangasinan on October 28 to 31, 2012, Mindanao Leg in Cagayan de Oro City on Nov. 11 to 14, 2012, Visayas Leg in Cebu City on Nov. 25 to 28, 2012 and the National Championship which will be held in Iloilo City on December 9 to 12, 2012.

ADVISORY
After due deliberation of Arnis Philippines Board of Directors and Tournament Committee the Novice Tournament has been moved to another date as per the request of the other clubs who want to join as it goes in conflict with their respective area festivals and the most recent calamity which has affected them recently.

ARNIS Philippines recently launched its official Facebook page "www.facebook.com/theofficialarnisphilippines". ARPI's FB page features arnis activities and personalities worldwide. President Velayo hopes that this would further increase awareness of our rich cultural heritage.

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has changed the venue for the Batang Pinoy 2012 Mindanao Leg from Cagayan De Oro City to Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte. It will be held on the same days November 7-10, 2012. Volunteer RJ�s if qualified, shall be allowed to help in the tournament. Volunteer RJ�s shall be exempt from taking RJ seminar course but have to register again to get their 2012 RJ ID�s.

This will be on July 4, 5, & 6, 2012 at the Multi-Purpose Arena in Philsports Complex, Pasig City. The workshop intends to appraise athletic coaches and trainers the best and current information regarding strength and conditioning including nutrition principles and mental preparedness.
